First playable prototype


Heyo! I've been working on this project for a few weeks now and finaly it's at a point where you can actually play it. It's barely a prototype at this stage, but I'm planning to add many different features in the future.
I'm looking forward to recieving feedback and reading your opinions.

So what is "Alchemy for Beginners"? It's an alchemy puzzle where you can use different tools to create different potions to fulfil orders that you recieve. At the moment you are awarded with a "score" which is calculated based on the amount of elements, essences, traces and sludge levels your potion has. In the future "score" will be replaced with a currency which will be used to progress through the game.

The target platform for the final release is PC.

Why am I posting such an early build? Because I don't have a lot of experience and I would like to get responses from people about the core of the game: mechanics, logic and UI (all art and UI are just placeholders at the moment).

What does the future hold?

My current plans for things that will be included in the future:

  • More basic ingredients, more potions, more recipes
  • "Potions" of other types: powder, solid
  • Discovery mode where you are free to craft and sell any potions
  • Recipe book which holds all the discovered recipes
  • Minor puzzles and lore texts that help the player find new recipes
  • Different system for recieving orders
  • "Story" mode with clearly defined progression through chapters. (Similar to current Tiers, but with different goals)
  • Saving and loading the game
  • Sounds, improved art
